If you want to make good techno, you need a solid understanding of All those styles.
Funky bass lines, mixed with dance beats while using the futuristic sounds of more purest synth styles.

As with all styles of electronica, the freedom to mix and match styles has lead to many off shoots of techno. Electronica is still wildly popular throughout Europe. And Techno has a great deal to do with that.

The History of techno goes all the way back to the late 80’s, and it has evolved, devolved and returned to its roots, more than once. Like any mainstay style of music, it goes through changes.

Now for making Techno, you need a good bass player, or be able to play great bass on your synth. You only need avg drum beats, anything meant for dancing will work. The real skill is in the bass and synth work.

The Heart of Techno is the do it yourself mentality. In essence the heart behind Acidhedz as well.

The Rave.

A word that can conjure up lots of things. Spaced out kids in stupid outfits, glow in the dark everything, wild super fast music, and drugs.

The term “Rave Music” is something that can be used loosely, since any kind of electronica can be found at one. Its a term used more in relation to the events, rather than a particular sound.

However a few generalizations can be employed. There is usually a main dance area, with super fast dance music of some sort playing. Since the important part is the beat, its not usually very complex music. Around that main dance area, you will find other areas with other types of music playing. There will all most always be a chill out room, with soothing music playing, to give dancers a place to rest and “chill”.

As Rave culture grew, it became stereotyped for drub abuse, the often wildly out of context antics of day time talk shows didn’t help. Im sure if you ever watched TV during the day in the 90’s you saw something like this. A mother dragging a son or daughter on stage dressed in some outrageous outfit, then spelling out the horror story of drug use.
This lead to major crack downs by the law. The Rave culture died out in one sense, people still go to them, they just don’t call them raves anymore.
